The tomato is a savoury, typically red, edible fruit, originally from South America that is now grown all over the world. Spencer fits this description to a tee. They can be the most rewarding of vegetables and are easy to grow from seed. A standard, indeterminate variety, Spencer is intended for greenhouse growing. The fruits of Spencer are a strong red colour, medium sized and have a good flavour. A strong mainstream variety, sideshoots should be removed on Spencer plants. Once described by an article in the “Telegraph” as “the humble superfood in your salad” the tomato is now the world’s most popular fruit.
