This stunning Italian variety of dwarf french bean Borlotto Linue di Fuoco Nano has a terrible name to remember. Very early and highly productive this colourful bean plant is much sought after and greatly prized. Borlotto Linue di Fuoco Nano has very decorative red and white striped pods approx. 8 inches long with attractive red and white mottled kidney shaped seeds. The seeds or beans have a quite superb flavour and can be eaten like fresh green beans before they are fully ripe or can be left to mature and used in a wide range of dishes such as soups. This multi-purpose Italian speciality bean can also be dried and if kept in airtight jars will last throughout the winter. Perfect for a sunny, well-drained spot, dwarf french bean Borlotto Linue di Fuoco Nano prefers to grow in moist, fertile soil away from strong winds, but it can also be grown successfully in pots.
