Product Information

 SEED POTATO

British Queen

British Queen is a traditional second early type.

Now a heritage variety Seed Potato British Queen was first listed in 1894 and in Ireland is known as “Queens”.

Bred by Archibald Findlay of Auchtermuchty, Fife, British Queen quickly became Britain's most popular second early.

British Queen is a dry and floury potato that is packed with taste when boiled, the tubers are oval with white skin, snowy white flesh and shallow eyes.

For a heritage variety yields are surprisingly high.

When compared with a modern variety it has an old fashioned appearance because it has many eyes.

Now classified as rare and only grown in small quantities in the UK but is now slowly becoming more popular again.

Has excellent dry rot resistance.

Recently awarded the Award of Garden Merit (AGM) by the Royal Horticultural Society

Supplied as Scottish certified seed potatoes
