Product Information

Strawberry Symphony is a late summer cropping variety. Symphony produces heavy yields of long, medium-large, glossy, conical fruits. The berries have an excellent flavour, are resistant to red core and appear to be resistant to vine weevil colonisation. A superb late season variety Symphony is an outstanding choice in Northern counties. When planting strawberries a sunny sheltered site is best but a little light shade during the day is acceptable. Good drainage is essential and the beds must not be sited in a frost pocket. Apply a general fertlizer at the rate of 2 oz per sq yard around the plant in March or April taking care to avoid contact with the leaves. Prune plants when the last of the berries have been picked by cutting the leaves off approx. 3 inches above the crown of the plants, apply a high potash feed at this time as well. With perpetual and day neutral varieties less drastic pruning is required, simply remove old leaves.
