Product Information

 ZANTEDESCHIA

aethiopica

Caesar

Also and perhaps better known as Arum Lily or Calla Lily but has a long list of other common names, i.e. Lily of the Nile, Altar Lily, Egyptian Lily, African Lily and many, many more.

A clump forming semi-evergreen herbaceous perennial with dark green, glossy, arrow shaped leaves.

The leaves, often up to 40cm long are held erect on long stalks.

In late spring and early summer large, white, waxy, trumpet or funnel shaped slightly hooded flowers with yellow spadices are borne in great abundance.

Each bloom approx. 25cm in length is carried on a single stout stalk or stem which can be up to a meter long.

These striking architectural plants are fantastic when grown beside water or in the bog garden.

They are also very much at home in damp borders or planted along the edges of shallow ponds.

Very popular as cut flowers, they are long lasting in the vase.

Zantedeschia can also be used to great effect as a pot or container plant for use on a patio or in the courtyard.

Can be grown in full sun or partial shade and will reach a height of about 1m with a spread of 1.5m in 5 years.

Royal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit (AGM).

All pictures used are of mature plants and may not necessarily reflect plants at all times of the year.

Our plants are supplied ex. 9cm pots they can be planted out immediately but better results may be obtained if they are grown on for a short time in a slightly larger container before transplanting to their final growing positions

FREE DELIVERY

We ask all our buyers to remember plants are living items and their appearance changes with the seasons.  Please don’t panic if the plant you receive looks different to the image on the website. This is quite normal and not a matter for any worry or concern, it is likely to be in perfect condition for the time of year and just enjoying a well-earned rest before bursting into action for the new season. Particularly in autumn and winter many shrubs will lose their leaves and look rather bare, gaunt and stick-like and from August onwards many perennial plants may not even be showing above the soil.

We want you to be happy with your purchase and all our items are checked and inspected visually before packing. In the unlikely event of a problem please advise us within 48hrs of delivery. Due to the nature of the goods we cannot accept any responsibility for their failure after planting as pests, disease, poor horticultural practice, extremes of weather and many other factors outside our control all take their toll. Goods will only be accepted for return after seller has been informed and given permission for their return.  Refunds will be issued when items are received back in saleable condition within 14 days from original dispatch date. Buyer must pay all return charges except where an item has been shipped in error.
