Product Information

 POTENTILLA

Scarlet Starlit

Commonly called Himalayan Cinquefoil.

A compact, low-growing, clump forming herbaceous perennial with greyish green leaves covered with silken hairs giving them an eye-catching silver sheen.

From June to September bright scarlet, saucer-shaped flowers with darker almost black markings in the centre are carried on wiry, erect, branching stems.

Excellent when planted towards the front of a mixed border or in a cottage garden setting and because it rarely exceeds 30cmx30cm can also be used in the rockery.

Potentilla Scarlet Starlit is also adaptable enough to be successfully grown in pots and containers or planted in an alpine garden.

Fully hardy, Scarlet Starlit prefers a site in full sun although it will tolerate partial shade and is unfussy about soil types but does need good drainage.

Regular dead-heading will prolong the flowering season and in late autumn the plant should be cut back to ground level.

Potentilla Scarlet Starlit is rarely offered.

All pictures used are of mature plants in full bloom and may not necessarily reflect plants at all times of the year.

Our plants are supplied ex. 7cm pots, they can be planted out immediately but better results will be obtained if they are grown on for a time in a slightly larger container before transplanting to their final growing positions

FREE DELIVERY

We ask all our buyers to remember plants are living items and their appearance changes with the seasons.  Please don’t panic if the plant you receive looks different to the image on the website. This is quite normal and not a matter for any worry or concern, it is likely to be in perfect condition for the time of year and just enjoying a well-earned rest before bursting into action for the new season. Particularly in autumn and winter many shrubs will lose their leaves and look rather bare, gaunt and stick-like and from August onwards many perennial plants may not even be showing above the soil.

We want you to be happy with your purchase and all our items are checked and inspected visually before packing. In the unlikely event of a problem please advise us within 48hrs of delivery. Due to the nature of the goods we cannot accept any responsibility for their failure after planting as pests, disease, poor horticultural practice, extremes of weather and many other factors outside our control all take their toll. Goods will only be accepted for return after seller has been informed and given permission for their return.  Refunds will be issued when items are received back in saleable condition within 14 days from original despatch date. Buyer must pay all return charges except where an item has been despatched in error.
