LAVATERA Bredon Springs
Sometimes called Tree Mallow.
A vigorous, long flowering plant just perfect for sunny borders.
Lavatera Bredon Springs boasts grey-green leaves that are softly lobed and feel downy to the touch.
Pretty dusky or mauve-pink flowers with darker veins adorn the plant from June to September.
The blooms which can be up to 7cm across are funnel or trumpet shaped and are carried in clusters on spreading stems.
At its best in a sheltered position in full sun and moist, free-draining, fertile, alkaline or neutral soil.
Lavatera is not suitable for shallow or thin chalky sites
If your site is very windy plants may need staking.
This free flowering easy to grow shrub provides colour and bulk for months eventually reaching approx. 8ft x 7ft.
