Product Information

Also called Cranesbill and sometimes referred to as Hardy Geranium.

First grown in the British Isles in the 16th century the Cranesbill should not be confused with the half hardy Pelargonium popularly referred to as Geranium.

This plant is usually found in the herbaceous border where it is used as ground cover to suppress excessive weed growth.

Growing approx. 15cm high Geranium Cambridge makes a low cushion of neat, deep green, glossy, aromatic leaves each one lobed and shaped like a small parasol.

From early summer the foliage is smothered in attractive, single, blue flowers with a pinkish or rose tinge

When in flower this doyen of the herbaceous border becomes almost irresistible.

When planted en-mass this well behaved plant makes superb groundcover and its low height also makes it ideal for the front of the border or rock garden.

Geraniums will grow happily in any reasonable garden soil in full sun or dappled shade.

The saucer shaped flowers should be removed once they have faded.

Large or overcrowded plants can be lifted and split or divided in March or April.

Keep watch for slugs in spring and cut back the stems to ground level in autumn.

Plants supplied ex. 9cm pot
