Astilbes fill the garden with beauty like no other flower, the showy panicles or plumes of feathery flowers that are the trademark of Astilbe can be up to 50cm long and the lush filigree foliage helps make this plant a magnificant sight.
The lustrous shiny green feathery fern like foliage of Astilbe Deutschland unfurls in spring and is followed in late summer by graceful upright plumes of pure white flowers.
Although Astilbe can tolerate some sun they thrive best when planted in a damp shaded border or beside water.
