Aureum

 Probably better known as Golden or Yellow Privet.

 A brightly coloured shrub with rich golden yellow leaves with green centres but occasionally they may be completely yellow.

 Extensively planted as hedging especially in urban areas because of its high pollution tolerance but its light bright colours also make it highly suitable for growing as a specimen bush.

 Also in demand from florists who use it in flower arrangements.

 In July-August Ligustrum Aureum carries clusters of small creamy/white flowers with a unique pungent fragrance followed by small, round black fruits which are beloved by many birds.

 The flowers are attractive to butterflies and many other insects.

 Described as semi-evergreen it may lose some or all of its leaves if exposed to very cold conditions but these readily grow back in spring.

 Growing at around 30cm per year it is less vigorous than Ligustrum ovalifolium but it does respond well to clipping.

 Tolerant of almost all except very wet soils.

 When planting a hedge we recommend 4 plants to the metre.

 Dispatched as strong, pot grown plants approx. 30 – 35cms tall ex. 11 cm containers.

We ask all our buyers to remember plants are living items and their appearance changes with the seasons.  Please don’t panic if the plant you receive looks different to the image on the website. This is quite normal and not a matter for any worry or concern, it is likely to be in perfect condition for the time of year. Particularly in autumn and winter many shrubs will lose their leaves and look rather bare, gaunt and stick-like and from August onwards many perennial plants may not even be showing above the soil.

We want you to be happy with your plants and all our items are checked and inspected visually before packing. In the unlikely event of a problem please notify us at sales@sycamoretrading.co.uk within 48hrs of delivery. Due to the nature of the goods we cannot accept any responsibility for their failure after planting as pests, disease, poor horticultural practice, extremes of weather and many other factors outside our control all take their toll. Goods will only be accepted for return after seller has been informed and given permission for their return.  The reason for return must be quoted. Refunds will be issued when items are returned in saleable condition, in their original packaging and within 14 days from original despatch date. Buyer must pay all return charges except where an item has been despatched in error.
