Product Information

More commonly known as Leylandii or Leyland Cypress.

The fastest growing hedge plant of all growing at a rate of 80-100cm per year.

If you need to create a hedge or screen quickly then this fast growing evergreen conifer is an excellent choice.

Makes an excellent windbreak and is also very useful in reducing noise pollution

Over the last decade or more Cupressocyparis leylandii has received some seriously bad publicity but this has only occurred where the trees have been allowed to grow without control.

When Leylandii trees are trimmed twice a year they make a superb formal hedge and when maintained at a reasonable height an excellent screening hedge.

Tolerant of most soils and conditions and easy to grow in full sun or partial shade.

 Also suitable for seaside locations.

Leylandii does not regenerate from old wood so they must not be allowed to get out of hand and then trimmed to size.

When planting a hedge we recommend 3 plants to the metre.

Illustrations used are of mature plants and may not necessarily reflect the plant at all times of the year.

Plants are supplied ex. 10cm pots and can be planted out immediately.

Multiple purchases attract discounts

If ordering a number of different items please email us at before paying and we will send an Invoice by return.

We ask all our buyers to remember plants are living items and their appearance changes with the seasons.  Please don’t panic if the plant you receive looks different to the image on the website. This is quite normal and not a matter for any worry or concern, it is likely to be in perfect condition for the time of year and just enjoying a well-earned rest before bursting into action for the new season. Particularly in autumn and winter many shrubs will lose their leaves and look rather bare, gaunt and stick-like and from August onwards many perennial plants may not even be showing above the soil.

We want you to be happy with your purchase and all our items are checked and inspected visually before packing. In the unlikely event of a problem please advise us at within 48hrs of delivery. Due to the nature of the goods we cannot accept any responsibility for their failure after planting as pests, disease, poor horticultural practice, extremes of weather and many other factors outside our control all take their toll. Goods will only be accepted for return after seller has been informed and given permission for their return.  Refunds will be issued when items are received back in saleable condition within 14 days from original despatch date. Buyer must pay all return charges except where an item has been despatched in error.
