Product Information

BELLS OF IRELAND

Molucella laevis

Bells of Ireland originate from Syria, Turkey and the eastern Mediterranean areas not as the name suggests from Ireland.

This lightly scented annual plant with green bell-like flowers makes an interesting and long-lasting cut flower and is also prized for dry bouquets.

Difficult to transplant, sow the seeds outdoors where they are to flower when all danger of frost has past, but while the weather is still cool.

Germination takes 3 to 5 weeks.

Will thrive in any reasonable garden soil and if the soil is rich in organic matter will require no dressing.

Water well in dry weather.
