Product Information

Olympic Double

Sometimes referred to as Ornamental Bramble or Salmonberry.

A thicket-forming deciduous shrub with glossy, dark green colour leaves.

Native to the west coast the USA Rubus Olympic Double is grown for its spectacular, highly attractive, fully double, deep cerise, rosette like blooms in mid-late spring.

The flowers contrast well with the dark green foliage and copper coloured stems.

Grows around 1m tall with a similar spread and thrives in full sun or shade.

Rubus Olympic Double is great under trees where little else will flourish.

East to grow on any well drained soil and once planted will spread naturally to form a large clump.

Ideal as a woodland or border plant but can also be grown in a large container if space is limited.

To keep Rubus Olympic Double manageable it needs pruned back hard in winter.

Tried and tester performer, rarely offered for sale.

All pictures used are of mature plants in full bloom and may not necessarily reflect plants at this time of year.

We despatch plants ex. 10cm pots approx. 10-12 inches tall, they can be planted out immediately but better results are obtained when they are grown on for a short time in a slightly larger container before transplanting to their final growing positions.

Multiple purchases attract discounts

If ordering a number of items please email us at before paying and we will send an Invoice by return.

We ask all our buyers to remember plants are living items and their appearance changes with the seasons.  Please don’t panic if the plant you receive looks different to the image on the website. This is quite normal and not a matter for any worry or concern, it is likely to be in perfect condition for the time of year and just enjoying a well-earned rest before bursting into action for the new season. Particularly in autumn and winter many shrubs will lose their leaves and look rather bare, gaunt and stick-like and from August onwards many perennial plants may not even be showing above the soil.

We want you to be happy with your purchase and all our items are checked and inspected visually before packing. In the unlikely event of a problem please advise us at within 48hrs of delivery. Due to the nature of the goods we cannot accept any responsibility for their failure after planting as pests, disease, poor horticultural practice, extremes of weather and many other factors outside our control all take their toll. Goods will only be accepted for return after seller has been informed and given permission for their return.  Refunds will be issued when items are received back in saleable condition within 14 days from original despatch date. Buyer must pay all return charges except where an item has been despatched in error.
