Product Information

Much better known as Climbing Hydrangea

An eye-catching, deciduous or semi-evergreen plant that may in time reach 18 metres tall with a spread of 5 metres if left untrimmed but it is slow growing.

The dark green heart shaped leaves have irregular golden-yellow margins which sometimes fade to creamy white in summer.

In late spring and early summer showy, white, fragrant, lace-cap type flowers are carried in great abundance.

On mature plants the coppery brown or cinnamon coloured peeling bark adds interest in winter.

Prefers a moist site with acidic soil but full sun or partial shade is fine.

Can be a little slow to get going and may require support at the start but is very vigorous when established.

Superb when used to cover a wall or fence or growing up the trunk of a large tree but is also adaptable enough to be used as groundcover.

Very hardy, Hydrangea Miranda will thrive in some of the most inhospitable and shady areas of the garden and will even tolerate a north facing wall.

Great wildlife plant, birds nest in the branches and bees and other beneficial insects adore the flowers.

If the plant needs pruned this should be done immediately after flowering but be careful Hydrangea Miranda flowers on the previous season’s wood and drastic pruning may restrict flowering the following year.

Illustrations used are of mature plants and may not reflect the plant at this time of year.

Plants are supplied ex. 8cm pots and best results are obtained by growing them on for a short time in a slightly larger container before planting in their final growing positions.

We ask all our buyers to remember plants are living items and their appearance changes with the seasons.  Please don’t panic if the plant you receive looks different to the image on the website. This is quite normal and not a matter for any worry or concern, it is likely to be in perfect condition for the time of year and just enjoying a well-earned rest before bursting into action for the new season. Particularly in autumn and winter many shrubs will lose their leaves and look rather bare, gaunt and stick-like and from August onwards many perennial plants may not even be showing above the soil.

We want you to be happy with your purchase and all our items are checked and inspected visually before packing. In the unlikely event of a problem please advise us within 48hrs of delivery. Due to the nature of the goods we cannot accept any responsibility for their failure after planting as pests, disease, poor horticultural practice, extremes of weather and many other factors outside our control all take their toll. Goods will only be accepted for return after seller has been informed and given permission for their return.  Refunds will be issued when items are received back in saleable condition within 14 days from original despatch date. Buyer must pay all return charges except where an item has been despatched in error.
